The srt-4 used the 420a engine found the the stratus, Sebring, concord, non-turbo neon and many non-turbo eclipses and talons. The motor was never intended to be turbocharged. It has always been the bastard child of the "rice burner" market...this is coming from an old DSM and 240 guy.

Wow ok I didn't know you guys would hang me for saying srt4. How about a cummins 4bt? That seems to be the most popular engine and you can find them kind of cheap, but then again that's more work then you want.

4bt's are awesome, but they do need a lot of fab work to be put in. I would love to have one some day.

Don't know if anyone is still reading this one but I looked into turbo and superchargers for the 4 bangger and I saw that some guy put a charger for a thunderbird sc on his and it worked, and for a turbo instead of using he neon engine to use a Volvo cause it's an inline 2.5L anyone have any positive thoughts on this?

Why wouldn't you just do a magnum v8 swap. If it's fuel mileage then think again my 5.9 with 46re auto gets better mileage then my 4.0 did with a ax15. Why! The bigger engine doesn't work as hard, so less gas is consumed. I have $600.00 into my swap after selling my old 4.0, ax15 combo for $600.00. So $1200.00 total got me a 2 mpg gain and a engine with 100k less miles on it.

I get 18 with my stock 2.5 so why would I spend $2000 or more on that swap for worse gas milage and x3 the weight, I asked about something spacific and you went the wrong way with it. if you read this and say something stupid like he just did just don't say anything please. I want to keep my engine in MY car, it's mine not yours!

That's a good question! You can spend about $600.00 and have better mileage then you do now if you did what I did.

My comments were intended for the op not you! But now that you mention it the m90 can likely be swaped on to the tj 2.5 you will likely see a fare gain if you port and pully it. With the 4 banger maybe 45, or 50 hp. By the time you buy it and an adapter you will likely be in it for over a grand!
