Engine stuttering and low idle

My Jeep has been acting off with the engine. On start up or at a stop the engine idles low occasionally and "stutters" or "jumps" on acceleration and sometimes when I lay off the gas and generally happens on the lower gears but not limited to. Happened after I did a little mudding then cleaning out the engine and body afterwards when I got home. Tried to keep the hose off the sensitive electronics but not entirely sure what happened. Check engine light is also on. It's drivable but a bit concerning.

Have AutoZone or similar read the code(s) for free, then look them up on this forum. You'll get plenty of help once you've narrowed the possibilities.

Probably got the throttle position sensor wet.

You might be able to pull the codes yourself without a code reader, but it does not work on some 2000 models. Here's more info:

How do I retrieve diagnostic trouble codes when there is a check engine light illuminated?

Thanks for the link. Going to Auto zone after I get the codes. Hopefully nothing serious.
