Engine Squeal - Possible A/C Compressor

2001 Jeep TJ Sport - 4.0 L with 120,000 miles

Today I noticed a squeal that began from the engine. After inspection i found some key features:

- Squeal increases as I accelerate and for the most part goes away when idle. Frequency increases as well.
-The chirp sounds to be coming from the a/c compressor, or below power steering pump.
- When watching the pulley on a/c compressor, the pulley spins but the inside is not spinning or moves slightly. The center is almost struggling to move. Should this be doing it?

What could be the cause of this noise? Power steering pump pulley has been replaced in the last month. Should the pulley/compressor be turning like this or is this cause?

Unless the HVAC mode select switch is set to A/C or a combination of A/C and defrost, the center of the A/C clutch should not be trying to rotate.

Best thing to do is remove the belt and rotate each accessory by hand, power steering pump, water pump, ac, idlers, alternator.

There should be no bind or sloppiness in rotation.

Even without ac being used, there is a bearing inside clutch that could be going bad.
