The "End-all, Be-all TJ Summer thread" (LONG read)
With warm, nice, topless weather comin soon i know this will be needed to help some.

To turn off your lights when you remove the doors
  1. Pull fuse #4
  2. Add a switch
  3. Door pin clips
  4. disconnect door pins

What about mirrors?
  1. Mirror movers. or newer models
  2. Some bike mirrors in door pin hole

What about if it rains?
  • If you have cloth seats your butt will get wet and seat will smell over time.
  • If you have carpet your feet will get wet and it too will smell over time.
  • Pull carpet and let it dry spray with fabreeze
  • pull drain plugs in floor, drill new holes if needed, but watch for lines under the body.
  • dont let your clockspring get wet (behind steering wheel) ts what controls air bags and horn.
  • your dash is NOT water proof
  • get a cheap cover if needed
  • morning dew will cause problems over time

It rained and now my horn doesnt work?

Your clockspring got wet. Replace it. You must remove air bag to do so, but can do it yourself if you want.

How do I keep my stuff from getting stolen?

Buy some Tuffy or dont leave anything in it.

Can I drive with hard top window open?

Yes but it will wear the lift shocks out

Don't forget that driving with rear glass open on hardtop your going to be sucking in a lot of exhaust also.Not to pleasant.

I used to catch grief from my ex about taking the doors off. My current fiance loves it, and is now looking for a TJ to trade her '99 Cavalier in on. Im so proud Her main requirment is "I dont want one with tiny tires, it looks weird" She wants a Rubi, but isn't there some rule that your other half's rig can't be as capable as your own ?

get her a Rubi, then shopping spree for you!! i have ARBs front and rear, armor, skids, 37s,

Hey, took her out Jeep shopping today. Found a 20k mile, 2006 X model. In the color she wants (Red), and with an Automatic. For $14k. The first thing she said was it looked tiny with mine sitting beside it. It has 225/75-15 tires on it, yikes. She said if she gets it, a BB and 31's will be on it before it has license plates...lol
