Emergency lighting

I posted a while ago about this, Im still wondering how/where people have put stobes and LEDs for emergency pesonelle uses. I dont need 360 degree visibility, I just want front and rear.

Thanks,
Matt

There are certain colors you can use and often times it varies by state. The big thing is they don't want people driving around with lights on causing other motorists to think they are an emergency vehicle. Personally I was thinking about drilling into the rear tail lights and mounting clear strobes in there and then smaller strobes in the front turn signals. But there are a lot of ways you can do it.

If you have a hard top mount them at the top of the windshield. If you have aux. lighting you can drill into those housings and mount them. You can put in grill strbes (plenty actually saw this on a board), also do visor or dash mounted as well. Just depends on what you are looking for.

Matt ,

Check out my set up. The visor light was bought and I made the grill and roll bar strobes housings from 55 watt lights I got at Autozone. The Aircraft switch activates them all... HTH

Are you a vollie?

Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil, that true love never dies. Doesn't matter if it's true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in.

Maybe it is the EVOC instructor in me but make sure that your insurance will cover you as an emergency vehicle. Regardless of if you run a siren or not, if you display a light other than amber you are operating as an emergency vehicle.

There is plenty of room to mount a small strobe tube in the stock rear tail light housings. You also have tons of room behind the grill for lights.

I do not run my jeep with lights (I think the concept of that "style" driving in a lifted vehicle is insane) but I do carry a dash light in my storage box in the back in the off chance that I have my personal vehicle out and it is closer to go to respond to work than to my state vehicle in a major emergency.

hey thanks for including my article with the clear marker lights! btw... the clear turn signals work great with strobes as stated in my perveious post. i also run a double deck dash king strobe but have taken it down for the winter as it blocks the heater... would have preferred to get one of the bars that wounts above the rear view mirror. as or rear warning... thats tricky 4 me since i did the flush mount tail lamp conversion but will be working on this issue as soon as i get some money together again!
