"An electric supercharger" Anyone?

Was wondering if anyone has seen those electric superchargers on Ebay? They go for around $30 , just seeing if anyone has tried one and if its worth the hassle?

no, waste of time and money. go to your local boat store, they'll have the exact same thing there. its a fan to clear engine compartments of fumes. will not help your engine in the least

There are electric turbo chargers, but they are worthless.

My auto tech teacher in HS had us build one for giggles. We put it on a 16HP gocart, and it made that little cart scream. The trouble with the ones for a larger engine is amperage. It can be done, but the amount of power it would take far excedes the benifit.

Save your money, and just remember
THERE's NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT

You can spend upwards of $3k putting a centrifical super charger on your jeep, witha gain of 75HP roughly. You can also spend roughly half of that bore & stroke the 4.0 to a say 4.9, and gain 100HP +/-

you could also take the hood off and duct tape a leaf blower to the engine:

Perhaps, but forced induction = horsepower construction.

It would make sense that an electric supercharger could work, just as an air compressor does compress air. I think the problem lies in the eletric motor required and the amount of amps required. But yeah, if it was that easy to gain horses ....

If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.
