Just an update for you all... Everything working great since the install, braking again feels much improved and smoother than stock. There is a slight increase in the amount of brake dust but I'd much rather be able to stop than worry about dust. I still get a little squeak once and a while from the rear drums. I'm about 1,200 miles into this set up and my only regret is that I didn't have the $$$ to get a Vanco kit!

Does this mean you aren't exactly happy with the stopping distance?
Did you consider doing your rear brake pads with green 7000's to help?

I would take it to mean that although a significant improvement, particularly for the money, it's still not a Vanco kit. The Vanco Kit is, as Jerry put it, the "Holy Grail" of Jeep braking. Also significantly more money.

The Holy Grail would be the 16" kit and one of Van's hydroboost kits. That would rule all others.

Thanks, I've been searching for replacement brakes for a few days and found much info and pricing on EBC brakes, but how much more are the Vanco front brakes?

wow!

After reading all the reviews on the EBC yellow pads and centric rotors I decided to pull the trigger and order that combo (autoparts.com 193.07 shipped). I had been running performance friction pads and thought they stop my 35" tires pretty well. OH BOY was I wrong, this new set up is AMAZING! After the install I went to go "break them in" and after my 4Th or
5Th pass from 30 mph to 0 I was locking up my 35" tires and stopping in half the distance as my old pads. I can now lock up the front tires at any speed if I want to. I think this pads should be mandatory for anyone running 35" or taller tires they are night and day difference from my old pads.

Good, the next time I get in that stupid argument about how great PF pads are, you can jump in and help me out.

No problem, there is no comparison.

Is there a embedding procedure with the ebc pads? I know when I first installed the PF pads they had instructions on how to properly "embed" the pads to the rotors with a series of 30mph to 0 stops. The ebc pads gave know such instructions so after my 5Th pass and my tires where locking up I called it good.

hey, I ended up doing this upgrade a month ago and I agree, they are flipping awesome. I'll back you up on these too. This is an upgrade that's well worth doing.

I just put green stuff pads and centric rotors on. There is a red break in compound on top of the brake material that is supposed to aid in the bedding in process with normal breaking. Emergency type hard breaking is supposed to be avoided in the first couple of hundred miles, according to EBC. My brakes are still squealing loudly due to this compound! It takes a couple hundred miles of regular brake use to get down to the brake material.

Hey Quick question When you purchase these brake pads. They say set, is that meaning that the rear set is all 4 pads or just a rear wheel set? Sort of a stupid question but I dont want to blow 250 bucks and have to hassle returning them.

EBC Brake Pad Set E35DP61673 Green
EBC Brake Pad Set E35DP41255R Yellow

I cant seem to find the rear rotors, the part number listed is for a liberty...

this iswhat i got from above, Rear Centric Premium Rotors 12067063
