Centric Premium rotors #12067045.

Search around, you can find all sorts of different prices I've seen the pads go as high as $139.
Do you have to replace the rotors? Can I just put the yellow pads on the stock rotors? I've got about 60,000 miles on the original rotors. It's probably getting time to replace them anyway.

You can, but it's sorta like sneaking in and watching your granny take a shower. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Do you really want to risk a 100 dollar plus set of pads on potentially crappy rotors?

I vaguely recall that the OEMs weren't the highest quality.. but I'm curious to hear your thoughts.
We've had continual great success with the Centric Premium stuff in any application we've used it in.

I don't have a lot of time testing other brands, but there were a few that were tested based on cost and they just don't compare either in performance or longevity.

are you using ceramics on the rear or front Jerry?

Not to hijack, but curious, if the front tires are off the ground and you spin them, how much drag should there be on them? Seems like I actually have to put a little effort into making my front tires turn even without the e-brake on and everything in neutral. ( this is with the vehicle off the ground)

Asking so that I know if I absolutely need to look at my brakes next or not

Remember your turning everything back through the differential and driveshaft.

Well, after reading everything on this thread and reading up some of mrblaine's threads on brakes, I went ahead and bought a set of EBC Yellow Stuff pads and Centric Premium rotors. $228 including shipping to WA. I hope I'll be just as thrilled about this setup as you guys are. Quick question though, should I just buy autozone drums and shoes for the rear since it appears that they don't do much at all?

You could go centric on the rear drums, I looked for any way to squeeze more stopping power out of the drums and shoes. Never heard anything about them, but the local parts store carried their drums/shoes so I picked them up. I would imagine they are better than OEM even if just by a small margin.

I've just started to search for the best price on these items, right now Summit Racing has a pair of pads for $129. Don't know about the rotors yet.

Now for the stupid question because I know nothing about brakes. I have 4 wheel disc brakes on my LJ. Am I correct in guessing that the front and rear pads and rotors are the same given that I have a D30 axle in the front and a D44 in the rear?

Edit: The rotors are different
Front Centric Premium Rotors 12067045
Rear Centric Premium Rotors 12067063

Edt #2: The Pads are different too. EBC Yellow Stuff brake pads aren't available for rear brakes.
Front EBC Yellowstuff Pads E35DP41255R
Rear EBC Greenstuff Pads E35DP61673

The best prices I've found are at thepartsbin.com.

Thanks,

After reading on here I just ordered EBC Yellow's and the Centric rotors from the parts bin. Overall they were cheaper then the free shipping sites, and they have a discount code you can use for $20 off. I did a quick search and found it.

Enter
TPB02

Is it worth throwing green stuff's on the rear?

I have an 05 Rubi - disc front and rear............

Can someone give me the part# for the front and rear for the yellows and also for the greens.....

I only have 20,000 miles on my factory rotors.....I'll probably stick with them as long as it's OK.

With your rig, you'd be better off getting better brakes and putting the money you'd spend on the pads towards them.

Oh I know.just didn't seem like it should be harder to turn than the rear with the limited slip in it.
