At the bottom of the page above, it shows some generic review of the Green pads. It got some good reviews.

Blaine said that was normal but that it would go away at some point... I think he said 200-300 miles or so.

Is that the kit you Van is working on for the LJ's? I haven't had a chance to call yet but I will be checking in on them in the next few week's. I'm glad I went with the 17" rims after the issues you are having with the LJ's braking ability.

Yes, the heavy LJ's are what inspired that kit. Not all LJ's have the problem though and a more thorough investigation into a few things may reveal the rest of the issues and how to solve them.

But, if you start with something that big, tuning up the rest of the system will only make it better.

Awesome, it seriously sounds like a School Bus is coming to a stop, I put some Disc Break Quiet in there and it helped out a bit but still squeaks on a hard stop.

My brakes aren't as bad as you described so maybe I don't have quite the issue other LJ's are having. Even with 37's on steel my brakes aren't nearly as bad as my old Suburban with PFC's, which got much worse here in Illinois with the cold. You know a brake system is bad when one of the TSB's actually had the techs install a thicker brake pedal cover...no joke, mine had the upgrade to make it "feel" higher. Good luck onthe LJ brakes as I plan on ordering a setup as soon as it's perfected. In the mean time the Yellow's are going on as a band aid. Thanks again for all the info.

Rear Drum Brake Shoes

Hi Guys,

Very interesting reading in this thread. It is about time to replace my rear brake shoes, and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a brand of brake shoes that were any better than the stock ones, or should I just put the stock ones in? (1997 TJ Dana 44 Drum Brakes)

Any Suggestions

I think for the rear, that stock replacements are the way to go, there is many options in rear shoes and from what you have to choose from they're all about the same. But I wait to see if any of the experts have anything different to say about that, I haven't seen anything though.

Just a note of warning- If you attempt to break-in the EBC pads according to the break-in procedure for PFC pads, you won't be happy.
