Easier (maybe?)

Alright I'll give you guys the particulars and let you decide...

7 hour drive to our deer lease about 5 times a year...

Currently we get there in my dads 2500HD while pulling a trailer with our 2 ATV's on there. We get about 9 miles to the gallon and the trip really wears you down...

I'm thinkin: Put a receiver on my jeep and get one of those basket-racks to put our cooler on. Then get a set of "beater" wheels/tires to make the trip on and go over rocks with in west-tex. When we shoot a deer, we can drive the jeep down to the spot and put the deer up on the basket-rack. Clean the deer and put it in the cooler and once again carry it back home on the basket rack...

Wouldn't this be easier to do? We average about 9 mpg in his 2500HD while pulling the trailer. I'm getting 18-19 on the highway right now. It is a 862mile round trip there and back.... With the Jeep we wouldn't have to worry at all about towing the ATV's over there....

If riding 7 hours in pickup wears you down you will hate 7 hours in your jeep.

You've got it WAY too easy if you can "drive your Jeep to where you shot the deer".

and I don't know where you hunt, but where we hunt, there is ALOT of mesquite trees which = mesquite thorns = flat tires. I'd rather have a flat on a 4wheeler (cheaper tire) and still be able to drive home. I know we've gone through a few tires where we go...
