Durango steering gear box

Will the steering gear box out of a 1996 Dodge Durango fit and directly bolt onto my 1999 TJ 4 cylinder?

The magic year is 1998, not 1996. I've got one. It works. :-)

To my understanding you need a box form a 1998 with the snowplow option. The non snowplow one will work as well, and cheaper in price.

If it’s not broke don’t try to fix. Usually people running the Durango box are on 35'' tires.

If needed then go ahead. I just said that because it seems that on here some people like to change out there steering box for no reason besides that they read online there is some kind of an upgrade to the stock one.

I would rather run my oem gear, or get the PCS kit. I have nothing more to say about this dead horse.

Only if the pump can keep up with the additional volumetric flow needed for a box with a larger bore...
