The "AB" just refers to the "generation" of the part number.

The two letter designation is something that DCX added about 6 - 8 years ago. They did it in response to concerns about vendor quality and the need to issue new part numbers.

In the past if a vendor was shipping a bad part that needed to be purged from inventory, DCX had to issue a new part number for the "good" parts.

With the revised system, the core portion of the part number always stays the same - only the last two letters change.

I hope this information is helpful.

Have a great afternoon.

ohhhh. i thought you were talking about the durango tie rod stuff, like what you get off the ZJ V8 ones.

ive already got power steering, but it would be nice to be able to run all of my stuff and maybe a fan off a taurus in the future.

so let me get this- its still the same 136 amp alternator? just making sure. i dont wanna go buy a smaller alt.

thanks alot for the help guys- DAVE
