Drying Wet Seats **HELP**

I know this isn't exactly technical, but the other forums arn't read as much and I really need to get these things dry and I'm really at my end trying to do it.

I've had the seats rained on before, well the've been just damp, but last night it poured and these things are soaking wet. I've sucked up the water from them with a shop vac, used a heat gun on them, put the soft top up and had an electric heater going in the Jeep (don't worry theres no carpet or back seat so it sat on the metal floor). This has been going on since 9 this morning and there still not even close to being dry.

I really need to drive this thing tomorrow, gues I could put trash bags over the seats, but this is just pissing me off. How do you all get the seats dry? It hasn't been sunny all day, neither will it be tomorrow, and the air has got alot of humdity in it so thats not helping my situation.

Thanks. Mods sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

If there is a lot of humidity, you may consider using the air conditioning on at full when possible. It will generally be drier air, which should dry things out fairly well. I had the same thing happen and that helped a lot. If you get in a pinch, you may just have to get a few towesl to keep the seat of your pants dry from your seat. Good luck!

Thanks. I might just go start it up run it with the a/c on full and let it sit for 20 min and see what happens. Otherwise I'll get some towels or trash bags. These seats are like giant spounges. I'm almost thinking seat covers are better. Even if they absorb the water, they keep it from getting to the seat. A seat cover is 1/2" thick vs whatever the seat is.

I was rained on once and I had to drive to Houston(4 hrs) that afternoon. I put the top on before I left. The AC had everything dry by the time I got to Houston.

Perhaps it was just the dry air in Texas that helped dry them out.

Up here in Alaska in the summer if you get something wet, just let it sit and it'll dry up real quick, the air is very dry in the interior.

You all are lucky. It was 80%+ humidity today and cloudy. I'll try the a/c trick. Maybe even a/c / heat using the defroster setting. If only seats were waterproof. Everything else in the Jeep is nice and dry.

Thanks all.

It was still raining that day and Houston is always muggy and humid. The temperature was about 100 degrees. That allowed me to put the AC on full blast for 4 hours without me freezing myself.
