Driveshaft U-Joints?

I'm trying to replace the U-Joints on my front driveshaft. Is the rear double U-Joint replaceable? I've been told its a CV (Constant Velocity) joint. This type of CV is really only a double U-Joint, so I'm thinking it can be replaced the same was as a normal U-Joint. Can it or do I need to replace the whole driveshaft.

I have it all apart today, but I need the Jeep for tonight. The local parts store has Jeep U-Joints in stock so I am asking if I can replace them, or do I need to get a new driveshaft? If I need to replace the whole driveshaft I'll have to put it back together the way it is until I can get the new shaft.

I have a 98 Sahara. Any help would be great!

No, you don't need a new driveshaft, just replace them like the rest.

There's some truth in what you heard, but it was interpreted wrong. The Front DS U-Joints are Non-serviceable units. They cannot be greased periodically like other U-joints on your Jeep, they run dry and fall apart with time. However, they are replaceable, I forget the actual number used. If possible, ask the counter for a serviceable U-joints.

The AutoZone near my house has the U-Joints in stock, they even have the ones with grease fittings. They are a little more expensive, but thats what you think I should get?

I tried it on Saturday, but my bench vise doesn't open quite far enough to press them out. Any suggestions?

I need to have my front wheel U-Joints done, so I'm thinking I might just have it done.
