Door off Season, does yours do this?

I was wondering because I always see people talking about pulling the fuse when you take your doors off to keep the light from running the battery dead.

Well, whenever my doors are off, the light cuts off on its own after about 15 min of the Jeep being turned off. I was just wondering if anyone elses Jeep does this? I've never pulled the fuse.

I put in a similar switch and wire it the same way., AND put a new fuse in the power wire so the circuit is still fuse protected.

don't waste the money on the $30 kit sold by the big box online vendors. all it takes is about $5 for a switch and some wire.

Uhhh....If I understand you correctly: I think you need to turn your interior light switch off?

No its because his doors arnt there to hold the pins so the jeep thinks the doors are open and turns the lights on.

All you have to do is pull fuse #4. Jeep engineers specifically put this feature on there for when you take the doors off.

I was wondering about this as well. My light comes on for about 20 seconds and then goes out. I have the doors off now and with the jeep running they con't come on until I turn off the motor, then it comes on for the 20 seconds.

Pull the fuse...the light will still work with the turn of the switch on the blinker handle....Turns off and on fine.

Yes if I leave my switch turned on (light on) the light will go off by itself after a few minutes.

i just got pins because i didnt want to bother with the fuse.

I seriously don't understand why people are spending money on these. Is there something I'm missing here? I mean, it takes no longer then 20 seconds to pull the fuse on my Jeep.

just pull the fuse and be done with it. the interior lights will still work when you rotate the dimmer switch to the on position. when you turn the ignition off the lights will automatically come on for about 15-20 sec. and go out. mine has been like that since i first took the doors off and that's been over 2 years ago with no problems.
