Does this sound like an alright beginners set up?

Hi JeepForum! I am sort of new here and i would like to know if this would be a good set up for a daily driver. I do go off road but it is only light trails. No rocks for me.

What Im looking to get:
2.25'' Budget Boost with Skyjacker Hydros
1.25'' Body lift with MM lift
I would probally keep my stock Ravines and wrap them in 32'' or 33'' Goodyear MT/R's with wheel spacers.
And later on:
4.56 gears when the money gets right.

My questions are would there be any rubbing with this setup? What else do you think i would need? Would i need a transfer case drop? If anyone has this set up, pics would be wonderful. Thank you.

With that lift and the wheel spacers you'd not rub with 32s. However, I believe you might have a problem with 33's. I'm doing a 2" BB now with 32s and I'll post some pictures when I'm done. In the meantime, look at the beginning of the TJ forum under "What it looks like with ..... lift" thead. Some photos of typical setups are posted there.

Instead of the BB, i would reccomend Rough Country's 2.5" Suspension lift. It runs about the same i believe.

Thats a very popular way to do it for people on a budget and you should be just fine, although I will warn you, 3.07s with 33's is probably gonna be really annoying what with the power loss.

Yeah the 3.07 gears suck now with the 31's. My Jeep used to to be quick with the little 28's I had on it. Thats why I would regear as soon as I would get the money to do it. As for the Rough Country's 2.5" kit, Im looking at it now.

Yep, the Rough Country is a good choice also. I simply went with the Rubicon Express BB b/c I have such a good ride with the springs I have that I don't want to tempt fate. But....it's a good alternative.

I think you'll find a few on here to that bought the Full Traction 3" kit. I think they were pretty happy as well. It costs a bit more but it's also a good kit. I love what I did but it wasn't cheap. Does work for me however

Hi TOLjeep, a new member had had 3" Full Traction lift with Skyjacker Hydros installed in his 2001 Sahara and already done some nice trails with us. This kit is priced ok, especially considering that it comes with an adjustable front track bar. He has 33x10.50R15 tires on the original rims, everything is working just fine. Photos are on our home page.

For your motor mount lift, I would suggest the JKS budget motor mount lift. I have the M.O.R.E. torsional rubber motor mounts and they transmit a lot more vibes than the stock mounts.

I think you should go with not buying anything yet. Maybe get some 31"s and wheel it. Do it right the first time, I really wish i had read this forum before I did anything to my jeep. Should've just put it on 31"s and waited to lift it when I saved enough.

I already have 31's and wheel it. Its just they look small to me now. Plus after I do this it will prob be the end for suspension mods. I only want 33's. Thanks for the suggestions. Keep em coming

I would grab the 299$ deal for the 2.5inch with progressive springs that a dealer is doing on here with a 10% discount for members of the forum. 2.5"+1.25"=3.75" which, will be fine for 33's IMO.
