i wouldnt say theyre "cheap" but they werent expensive. fabtech 1/4" steel rocker guards - $260 from quardatec.
all the others i found were into the $300 range and they were only 3/16"

$260 is rediculous for 2 straight pieces of 1/4 steel.

those are more bling than protection. looks like the price is right, but it doesnt protect anything underneath and if you were to land on the slider with any weight on it at all it would rip the whole rocker apart. look for something with a little more protection under the tub if you do any wheeling. if you dont then get them, just dont expect them to do much in the way of protection.

These?

If so,remove them and it will look better.I needed to cover scratches and no protection so I did this 2 years ago.

I run Trail-Gear rocker guards without the step. They were $199 with free shipping from ebay. They are very solid, give great underbody coverage as well, and have already been well worth the price.

All you need is some angle from a steel supplier that is the height you want and an angle grinder with a cut off wheel. I bought two peices of 6"x5'x1/8" angle and cut the angles and the underside for bracket clearance and it worked great, I don't have a digital camera so no picks. If you don't mind donig a little shade tree fabrication you can save a ton of money.
