Does anyone know what this is for?
Hello all
About a week ago my girlfriend mentioned to me that something keeps hitting her foot when she sits in the passenger seat. I took a look and found this ![]() It seems to have two sided tape on one end so it must of been attached somewhere under the dash around the glovebox area. I traced the wire and it led me to a small plastic box where the wires on the other end tie into the harness. (i will try to take picture when i pull some parts off the dash.) I have no idea what this is or its function. I got the jeep about a year ago from a parking lot where it was put on a lean because the po didnt pay them, so he let them keep the jeep. Besides i dont think he would know because he abused it anyway. I just want to know if its some kind of sensor that i need or can i get rid of it. Thank you in advance all Yury

it's a bug. Destroy it immediately and go over your Jeep with a fine tooth comb!
Are you a wanted man? Be it by gov't or mob??? J/K. I have no idea? Is it flat? or rounded/bubbled on one side? Kind of looks like a GPS antenna

It could be an antenna for a system alot of used car dealers use now to be able to shut the vehicle down if the owner doesn't pay their payments on time. That would be the reason it's tied into the vehicle harness.

I got a friend of mine that uses these and he's told me if it's tampered with at all it will disable the vehicle. So becareful messing with it too much. Maybe you can find a dealership in your area that uses them and they can take it off for you.

i think thats what its turning out to be. theres some glue residue on the side of the dash so im thinking its probably where the PO had it attached. then again who knows, the guy really did some damage to the rig i would love to "run" into him one day. thanks jerry

Professional Installation
I agree with some of the earlier posters.... it looks like a professionally installed satellite radio antenna. Almost looks exactly like my Sirius Antenna base.
