Do I have a SYE or a Bodylift?

Ok I know this is a dumb question but I have been thinking about buying a bellyup skid plate and as I understand it you need both a SYE and at least a 1" BL. I bought my 99 tj already lifted (3") and in talking to one guy who looked at my jeep he said I already have the SYE and the 1 BL, but then someone else said I didn't. I am still a "newbie" so please help me! How can I tell (without taking it in to a shop) if I already have either of these? This will help me plan my buget for the project. Thanks

If you have a body lift, there will be "pucks" in between the body and the frame. Typically, these pucks look like hockey pucks (thus the name "pucks") and come in the 1", 2" or 3" variety. I think that M.O.R.E. makes theirs in aluminum, so instead of being black, they may be silver in color. As far as the SYE, do a search for SYE's and CV driveshaft's and compare your transfer case and rear driveshaft to your search results.

If you have a space of 1" or more between the frame and body, then you have a BL. Look at your rear drive shaft wehre it attaches to the transfer case. If you have dual u joints at that end then you have a sye/cv driveshaft.

Do you have access to digital camera or scanner? If you do take a picture of the Jeep and t-case and somebody here can tell you.
