I like the idea of calling this mod the "Aussie Lift" and reserving the "Highline" name specifically for the AEV Highline kit... It just seems more right that way...

Anyway... Whether you do Aussie Lift or AEV Highline - I love the end result. Big tires with low COG - what could be better

Plus the front end looks really aggressive now... wide fenders and flat hood...

AEV Highline:

Definitely prefer it Highlined

There's a couple of YJ pictures in this thread on pirate

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=538391&page=2

I agree that it really should be called the aussie lift, I started to title the thread something along those lines and thought no one would know what I was talking about. I think more people know about the aussie thread than I originally thought.

I never knew about this until you started this thread. I followed the links you gave us and found out more. Thanks again for sharing your build experience and research with us.

Has anyone done this with an automatic? I have an '04 Unlimited and would like to do this to help keep mine low. I have coilovers and 39.5's. I like where it sits now but I get into my fenders. I was wandering, if you have done this, where did you put the computer thing for the trans?

Very nice work on this by the way. This thread deserves a bump.

maybe I depends how much space the tube and airbox take up. When you move the fenders up and remount them, the angle of battery tray brackets etc all need to be changed to match up again. its something you could make work though

I don't want to get flamed for this, but I have to ask. Is it just me, or does the front end look a bit like a humvee?

I was in the army, so I may be a bit partial to the look, and I think it looks better with the slightly rounded hood of a tj, but I think there is a resemblance.
