Thanks for the compliments, I knew jeepforum would appreciate it. Everyone at my house is tired of hearing about my Jeep. For the sides I think I will just go for the rokmen sliders, boat sides would be cool, but I'm still trying to keep it stockish looking and I'm not a pro fabricator. I was literally shaking when I finished the first hood cut because I was so intimidated by cutting into the Jeep and I knew there was no going back. My girlfriend won't let me live that one down.
I went out and measured and the actual measurements for the new height is 3.5 inches in the front and 3 inches in the back. As for the engine compartment, I'm still working on it. I'm bending some brackets to move the evap unit to where the washer fluid bottle was. I think the washer fluid bottle can move to next to the brake cylinder, unless it gets too hot. For the time being I'm going to attach a cone filter to the air intake, because I live in cali I'm eventually going to put a K&N filter on there before the next smog check because of the CARB cert. |

WOW, you have got some big grapes to be cutting like that! Keep this thread alive. I can't wait to see the final result.

Congratulations! That's an awesome mod.
By the way, smog checks go by county, not by the state. In my county (Imperial), you only have to smog a vehicle when you sell it. |

I just followed the these threads, the aussie originator really deserves a lot of credit. That guy did it all without knowing what the results would be, and started quite a craze. I hope it's not bad form to reference other forums.
http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55352 http://www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums/showthread.php?t=785321 I just wish I took more pictures, it's such a great mod there really should be a good step by step that anyone can follow. It was pretty "easy" take it from someone who's never done anything like this before. Plus as of now I've only spent about 20 bucks on misc. nuts and bolts, some paint and cutting wheels. Granted I still have to purchase an air filter. I just told myself that if it didn't work out then I would just upgrade to the heat reduction hood. The rest of it can be put back together, you'd just have the hole on top of the grill. But now I wouldn't go back, I love it. Other jeeps are starting to look funny with their low fenders ![]() |

it looks pretty bad *** from the front .... from an angle you can see the fender's aren't made to be there.
Good job though on making it all symmetrical!! looks much better then a body lift of that size would ![]() |

I've been going over it and I see some things that need to be tweaked, just wondering if others see the same things. I'm interested in Jeepers opinions, most non jeepers can't even tell that I've done anything. |

Looks awesome!
Just make some longer rockers and no one will notice the gap at the bottom of the front fender.
