Different tire tread causing transfer case problems?

So I did a search and couldn't find anything conclusive about this. I had a BFG 33" tire that slipped a belt and needs to be replaced. I unfortunately didn't rotate the spare tire with the other four (leason learned). So right now I have two front tires with 50% tread and one back one with 50% tread and the other back one with 100% tread.
My question is what kind of problems might this cause with the transfer case and the rest of the driveline. It seems to be some people think as long as I put on another 33" BFG on it will be ok. Others seem to say it will cause problems reguardless. I will be getting a new BFG 33" tire and will then have two 100% tread tires. What would be the best arraignment of tires on the jeep?

no problems, i swapped my spare with 100% onto the rear with the other one having about 30% and it's not doing anything. go for it!

I was told by a tire dealer that swapping a different tread design even though they were both A/t would do damage to the transfer case. I just think he was trying to sell me 4 new tires which i wanted nothing to do with.

Only time you have to watch it is if you have a rear locker full time. The just throw it on the front and use two identical tires for the rear to limp off the trail in 2wd if need be. But tread plays no part. Physical size difference does.

Different tire treads and size differences can cause the differentials and transfer to work harder.

When I bought my Jeep it literally had five different brands, makes, and sizes of tires on it.(Sizes within 0.5" of each other.) Putting it into four wheel drive would cause the transfer case and differentials to howl because of the excess strain that was being put on them.

Putting one tire on that is at 100% will make the one differential work slightly harder, but should cause minimal issues for the transfer case.

The difference in tire diameter will cause the differentials to do exactly what they are designed to do, differentiate the rotational speed between tires. This is no different or more taxing on the differentials than if you steer while driving.

So along these lines, I've got 2 ProComp Mud Terrain's (32x11.5)that might have about 10% left. I'd like to put these 2 up front and buy some new Wrangler M/T's (same size) for the rear. The only time I run in 4wd is when I'm off road. I have an extra set of Wrangler AT/D2 (31x10.5) but I don't really want to take these off road as I don't think they would do well on the rocks (probably get slashed to pieces). Would it be better to run the AT's until I can get 4 new MT's?

Yeah, Plus the a/ts will help better in winter. Them being 10.50 will help plus a matching set. Oh well if they are smaller, Save up for a new set of bigger ones. Good luck

If you have a limited slip in the rear, 2 different tire sizes will eat up the clutches. Putting it on the front and matching the back tires up is a better option.
