Dif cover skid pates

Okey I finally ordered my 4.56 gears. I want to find out what and who sells, if anybody, the best seals for the cover. I also want an effective yet not outragisely priced re-enforced skid plate that bolts to the cover to keep it from dragging. Links would be great. Also when you add these do I need longer bolts or will the factory one suffice?

I am also looking for anyone that can lead me to a "how to video" on how to rebuilt a D35 and a D30 HP. If you have a used one laying around i'll buy that too. Thanks, Kent

I have heard very good things about Ruff Stuff Diff covers:
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/ruffstuff-diff-covers-showed-up-today-pics-483139/

I would also recommend Lube Lockers like TheJafe installed also. I am running the RockCrusher Covers with LubeLockers - to buy again - I would have gone with the Ruff Stuff - as they are thicker and have recessed bolts.

Not sure what you mean about rebuilding a D30 & D35.
Stock Jeep Wranglers come with a Low Pinion D30, not a HP30.

Are you planning on doing the gears yourself?

Going to do the gears myself or die trying . I got the front end from a 94 GC. Its a D30 HP. I was told that me having a 3-4" lift a HP front end would be better than the stock D30 LP front. The good news is that I can take my time building that front end and only take down my jeep for one day to do the complete swap. I was told everything is identicle. What do the lube things do for you other than the obvious points to lube things? I know it sounds like a dumb question... I am tight on cash...but I want to do it right the first time also. Kent

Lube lockers eliminate the need for RTV.
They hold the seal REALLY well (my RTV leaked before) and they are really nice if you ever have to do diff work on the trail - no scraping and redoing RTV to get moving again.

I like and run the Riddler Diff covers. Very very beefy and no lips to get hung up on, also under $100 shipped.

Just a few days ago I received Bad Apple differential guards for my Dana 30 & 44 that I won here at JF (thanks to Muddy Rocks Offroad).

See my review (although I have not yet installed them):

I'm running a CRANE cover for the front 44 and a SOLID for the rear 44. The CRANE would not fit with RE 5.5 lift

I got Riddler's too.

My front rubs the steering but doesn't effect its use. the rear rubs on the kilby gas tank skid, but just enough to rub off the paint, the skid just deformed anyway.
