Did you install rear sidemarkers with your round LED tails?

I am about to install some round LED tail lights and KC backup light kit. I never really thought much about the rear sidemarkers. Are they really necessary? Anyone not install sidemarkers?

Most people do, but if you go with LiteDOTs, the sidemarker light is already built in and you don't have to cut into the tub of your Jeep.

I thought some sort of side marker light and reflector were required by law.
