Did Sea Foam and Water Treatment..Nothing

I have an 04 TJ and am having a rough idle/cylinder misfire after it gets "hot". I got codes showing random misfire cylinder 1 and 2. I replaced all plugs and coil pack. Seemed to work, then it did it again. Very random, not ever time. I also removed and cleaned the throttle body. Did it again. Anyway finally decided to clean combustion chamber. Ran Sea Foam..No smoke!! Ran a full cup of water SLOWLY through throttle body. Still nothing, not even water coming out of exhaust. Any ideas on idle issues and why it seems that we got no "expected" results after either of the two techniques?

When I did the sea foam treatment I also did not get any smoke. The can even told me to expect that "exhaust fumes will be extreme". I was bummed because I had been looking forward to smoking out the neighborhood with the "extreme exhaust fumes".

He is not worried about smoke but rather a random misfiring and idling problem....

Rokmen TT, Rokmen control arms, Novak NV241 cable shifter, JKS 1.25" BL + 1" MML.

Anybody can take advice if it doesn't interfere with their plan.

I did rev. Let sit 30 minutes then drove..Did the water treatment too..The rough idle is so random that I cant pinpoint. Will the cam sensor be a random thing?

I have that problem with my 93XJ. Supposely the 4.0 have a vaborlock problem due to the heat. Usually number 3 and 4 injectors. Mopar fix was to insulate the injectors with some sort of heat shield.

I've had the same problem for years. Mine is "cyl #3 mis-fire". I've replaced the coil pack, cam sensor, plugs, fuel injectors. Still shows up every couple of weeks. In fact it did it today! (It's actually been a few months since it did it.) I just dis-connect the battery for 5 min and then it's good again for a while. It's aggravating, isnt it?

Very aggravating. Happened while we are on the top of Coal Creek OHV in Tennesee. It showed cylinder 1 and 2. I read about the insulator for #3..I guess I will have to keep trying to figure out as we go.

Did you check the injectors. They could be dirty, not firing (wiring or bad) or the o ring gaskets are leaking letting air in.

Have you had the intake off? could be the intake is not seated properly.

Have you done a compression test?
