Diamond plate rear corner owners

When you guys put your corners on, how did you make your fender flares sit flush with the plate since it sticks out like an extra quater of an inch from the body?

my d-plate doesn't go that far down to where the fender flares meet, nor should they, in my opinion. you might be able to trim the fender, or cut the d-plate so it's not an issue.

Does it matter if the corner guards were made from diamond plate or some other metal? If not, then all I did was reposition the trailing edge of the fender a bit so it would clear the corner guard. I believe I may have slotted a hole in order to accomodate that (it's been long enough that I don't remember the exact details). Looking at the fender, one can not tell it was moved a small amount. That may not work if your clearance issue isn't minor. In that case, I would trim the flare as I would have no intentions of removing the guards once the holes were all drilled and they were mounted.

allright Stu, yer losing me here....

you repositioned the trailing edge of the fender, by slotting a hole....? did you move the whole fender? Why would that affect clearance?

maybe i need more coffee...

I am pretty sure that he is talking about the flare.

Sorry....I meant I most likely slotted the hole in the flare, which allowed me to slightly resposition the flare and not have it contact the corner guard.

Not that I could tell. Obivously, the amount one moves it will certainly influence the outcome.
