I could probably get a Rockwell 2.5 for less than that, I know. But do I actually need an entire new axle?
Practically anything can be fixed, the real question would be is it worth fixing. Kinda hard to answer that question without knowing what exactly you broke. What exactly did your mechanic say happened?
I live in Massachusetts i have meet 10 mechanics, not one of them remotely competent. Nobody here has 1/10th of an idea what a jeep is or how it works.
The OTHER mechanic that i took it to thought "I had a pebble in my tire" and figured somehow that would make the axle explode
Elias 4wd gets lots of recommendations from different Jeep forums. Never been there for any type of service or repair but it's probably worth looking into if you want a jeep guy
There are also plenty of shops in NH like domenic's
