Desperate And Need Help~~where Is My Power?

Everyone,

OK, not sure what is going on but I do not like it. I first was just having problems keeping my mileage and rpm's down getting up the hills on the interstate, but now I have literally no power. I cannot even reach 70 going down a hill. My gut is telling me it is the cat going out? Any suggestions would be awesome. There is no check engine light on either. 2.5L, 4cyl, 97, TJ. Thanks ALL!!!!

Stock height? Have you checked the stored codes?

Yea, I have not done anything to it, and the code that I saw today when I tried was a 12. I did not see any others, and I looked at that and it had no connection.

I'd guess either a clogged catalytic converter or perhaps pieces from the cat have clogged the muffler. A muffler shop can test it with a pressure gauge in just a few minutes. Possibly a bad 02 sensor but a clogged exhaust system sounds more likely.

Is there anything that I can do at the house? I went to the dealer and he wanted to charge me 900 to change a freakin blower motor, I bought one at autozone, bosch for 120.00. I really do not want to get screwed. It just started this latest incident about three days ago and then before that I was loosing power going up hills. Thanks.

check air filter. (although usually you'd just have a problem starting it)

Again, I'd take it to a muffler shop and see what they say.

try unbolting the downpipe from the exhaust manifold and driving it around the block. if you regain your power, then you for sure have a clogged exhaust, and you can go from there. if it doesn't improve any, then the problem isn't the exhaust.

Trouble Code 12 And 21

Well I went out to the Jeep this morning and redid the test for codes. It kicked back a 12, 21, and 55. The 55 I know is the last code and that is fine, however, I saw what the 12 and 21 indicate on the troubleshoot page. Can anyone pinpoint from previous conversations in this thread and this one what it might be. And if it is the O2 sensor which one and where can I find it on the Jeep. Thanks a bunch.
