Designing a Rear Bumper/Carrier

I was in the market for a rear bumper/tire carrier when ColoradoSkier pointed me to A to Z Fabrication http://www.atozfabrication.com

I'm starting with:
Bumper--2"X5" rectangle tube with 3/16" thick wall, ends cut on angle and capped shut, 2" receiver in center. Tire carrier main tubes 1.75", with 1.5" supports, machined spindle with bronze bushings, T-handle screw-in latch to secure to bumper. Swing-away carrier with a hinge rated at 2000#. It is rattle free with the T-handle screw-in latching mechanism.

I have the option of making any modifications (or changes) I'd like so I'm planning to add mounts for a Hi-Lift to help balance the weight between the front & back once I purchase a winch.

Given the chance, how would you tailor this bumper to your needs? What would you change/add?

I made mine from diagrams at www.jeepfabrication.com worked pretty well...I have access to a huge steel fab shop though...I will put up some pics if my camera is ever repaired...

We have to do some little mods to the carrier to get it to flex less...If you want details on the design PM me.

As I've had a few PMs inquiring if I was building my own rear bumper/carrier I thought I'd post here again.

I'm not building one myself, I'm having one custom-made by A to Z Fabrication. I was wondering what features those on the list might want if they found themselves in my position and could modify a bumper to suit their particular needs.
