Was that dana 44 3.73 gears stock in your jeep?? If so what are the chances of us having the dana 44 in this one?? Was that a common thing for that year or is it rare??

Its hit or miss on the D44 and 3.73's you do have a good chance at a d44 being it is a sport. The x models only came with d35's.

My TJ had a Dana 44 and 3.73 stock. She does have a good chance of having a Dana 44 and 33s since her TJ is a sport model. Have y'all got a build sheet for her TJ from Jeep yet? You can find the info on getting one in this thread*http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/tj...embers-722109/

Still nothing on the gears, I did look under it and it appears to be the dana 35 but the label was unreadable with a flashlight.

Started painting flares tonight and the trackbar relocation bracket showed up.

Fixed Pics...

Well when I got home from work today we put the clear coat on the fender flares and then got the front up on jack stands to get an early start in the morning on the lift.

Good news is, 3.73 gears, bad news is Dana 35 rear...

Plan for tomorrow is install 2" BDS lift springs and shocks, new brake pads, grease everything, change oil, put fender flares back on and install new tires and wheels.

Over the next few weeks when we get another day to work on it we are going to paint the hard top black, it is currently grey...

As you can see we have all the help we can stand with Hank...

While looking under the front of this thing getting an idea of what we are doing tomorrow I noticed the cheap, small cheesy steering stabilizer this thing has. At least it doesn't look like much, would this be a recommended replacement part during this. I am sure the one on there is stock.. I have read somewhere on here where it was recommended not to worry much about the stabilizer, stock is fine.. It just seems awful small to me..

Well lift is underway and going rather smoothly so far.

Unhooked trackbar, swaybar and removed old shocks..

Jacked up one end of axle and let the other end hang.

Removed old spring, it just fell out with all ease. Done other side the same way.

Installed new springs and took a little minor persuading but wasn't too tough at all to get into the coil bucket.

Installed new shocks, they went on without issue at all.

Front end is finished, took about 3 hours to include new brakes, greasing, changing the oil front end alignment and reinstalling the painted front fender flares. Also had to thread chase one of the holes where the brake caliper connects.

Only issue was getting the track bar reconnected. It took a ratchet strap to pull the axle back over enough to get the bolt to line up. It appears the front axle is offset to the drivers side about 1" when all done. I will look closer at this later.. Might be in need of adjustable track bar.

They advertise it as 2" but in reality I think it's closer to 2.5"
