Dash Cluster Makover... Here's the Pics.

I purchased the tri-led bulbs and the blue incandescant bulbs. Here's the pics of what they look like.

What the bulbs look like:

Carbon Fiber Back:

Carbon Fiber lit up:

The blue incandescant bulbs were really dim compared to the LED's. The tri-LED bulbs seem to remedy the problem of the light not being evenly thrown throughout the cluster. I like the LED's the best. Also... The dimmer works perfectly w/ the LED's.

I was asked to update this thread with the following information:

Application for 2005 unlimited

dash cluster
six bulbs:
size: #74

hvac
three bulbs:
size: T4

lower buttons (over drive, defog, ect)
two bulbs per switch:
size: one t3 and one t4

Shifter light (auto)
one blub:
size: 168

courtyse light
two bulbs:
size: 906 (search v-led its the same as 921)

dome lights (two round light sound bar) Just get the high power universal kit. Its wicked bright
two bulbs
size: 211

Wow...Thats some nice work you did. Looks great. Love to see how you wired the LEDS up and where you placed them. Did you just drop them in the stock bulbs' position?

Yep... stock locations in the stock bulb sockets.

The outcome looks very nice. I thought about doing this a while ago, but wasn't sure what it looks like next to the green light in the center console.

Where did you get the carbon thing for the cluster face..?

What color does the mileage display in? Looks good.

What do you need to remove to get at the bulbs?

The mileage would stay the same OEM green since the LCD display is build into the cluster and not lit by bulbs like the rest of the cluster.

this looks like a great little upgrade. little more info one what kind of bulbs ya used! to do the whole dash and center (HVAC controls) would be pretty sweet.

keep the info comin! you didn't have to use resistors or anything else like that?

I've done the standard bulbs in my TJ before. They just wern't bright enough so I went back to stock. I think I want to try the LED units after seeing Zew's post.

The install is pretty easy. Its just a a few screw to take out the cluster 8 if I remember correctly. 4 for the dash and 4 for the cluster. The sockets for the bulbs just twist out of the back of the cluster.

I'm still trying to figure out the bulbs. I thought it was the T1.5. But the replacement bulbs are either those or the 194.
