Dana30 Master Install kit question

I was looking at getting the G2 master install kit but I read that it might not have everything needed such as a baffle and an oil slinger, although I am not sure what those are. Anyone know if this is true?

The G2 master install kit is 30 bucks less, so if I dont need those, then I will grab it.

Thanks!

get a master install kit from East Coast Gear Supply. Includes everything you need and plenty of shims.

I am not to sure who ECGS will send you, but the G/2 as well as Motive and many others, will not have a very broad selection of the thinner shims and some do not include the slingers.

If you have the correct tools to do gears then you can reuse all the slingers in your diff now though.

ECGS puts together their own kits and they are bar none the most thourough and do come with a new, thinner, slinger for the 30. When I did my gears I used their kit for the front HP30 and the Ford Racing kit for the 8.8. Should have gone with ECGS for the 8.8 too, the Ford Racing kit was pretty terrible.

Though I havent ever bought one of their kits, I would Highly doubt it has more parts then a Yukon master kit. Carrier shims have multiple .003, and up in small increments, as well as inner axle seals, and all slingers, and baffles. They may be similar but doubt it has more than the Yukon.

Any kit that provides at least 2 baffles is a good kit. If they have that much forethought to put an extra in odds are it is a complete kit.
Yukon's did for both my HP30 and 8.8

I know they used to and I used it all the time. I don't remember what it was but I think it's a Pirate4x4 code so you might try searching there.
