Dana 44 on craigslist $250

Hey JFers,

I saw this on craigslist and thought it was a good deal. I may be wrong but if you're looking for a D44 and in the area check it out. I have no relation to the seller. Just trying to help out.

Its a D44a and its not a worthwhile axle swap.

The D44 axles used in Grand Cherokees have an aluminum center section. Its different than a standard D44.

My research also indicates that the center section is a different shape than a standard D44 so few if any of the standard parts/upgrades will fit. It's a shame because I've been looking for a decent way to upgrade my rear axle for a while and these things on CL always get my hopes up.

Cheers,
Adam

wish it could work for ya but this is a not a good swap for a TJ - not only are the control arm brackets and such different but it is a weaker housing overall... gears and lockers are limited and the housing needs to be trussed and tig'ed... save towards an 8.8 or 44 from a rubi
