Dana 44 Clunking

Since installing the new Dana 44 rear-end I have a clunking noise that feels and sounds like coming from skid plate area. I have SYE kit that I ordered from Fab Tec when I ordered the lift and was wondering if maybe the drive line is bottoming out. There are 1 1/2 inches of splines in front of the slip joint, is that enough or should the drive line be shortened. I had a dana 35 before, and the noise wasn't there prior to the swap, and yes I rechecked the torque on all the control arms, trac bar, and shocks.

check your bolts that hold your transfer case to the skid plate. you also may have seperated the mount that holds your tranny to the skid plate. mine was doing the same thing when i completly seperated the rubber tranny mount.

I was kind of wondering about that mount because I have crawled all over that thing and shook everything underneath trying to find and it is absolutley driving me nuts, I did find a slightly worn bushing on the right front upper control arm where it mounts to the axle wich is the factory one left because of the long arm lift so I ordered new bushings from energy suspension I will also now order a new tranny mount just to be certain.

i just bought the one from poly performance. they are built different b/c they are interlocked by metal in the poly bushing to limit the amount of flex so it wont separate like the stock bushing. sitting in the garage right now waiting on my lazy but to put it in.
