Dana 35 locker in a Dana 30

I finally got around to installing my gears in the front D30. I had an ole detroit trac-lok for a D35 sitting on the workbench. Everything fits in the D30 carrier going back together with it tuesday I will post my results then. Fits like a glove.

What is a Detroit trac-lok? Dana makes a Traclock for the D35c but since it is clutch based, I would not want it in my front axle if I ever drove on slick or icy roads.

I have never heard of people swapping parts between two entirely different axles.

This should be an interesting read.

i have seen this done a couple times. with good success also, the only difference between most d35 and d30 lunchboxes is the space for your c-clips on a dana 35

Farmkid, how did the d35 locker work out in the front d30? I am kicking this around. I have a Aussie in my rearend but may put it up front and get a different one for the rear.

Pirate has a thread going on swapping R&P from different axles. D80 to D70, HP D70 to HP D60, HP D50 to HP D44, D35 to D30, JK LP44 to LP D44.
This is some very good reading .
