Custom Fabricated Bumper (Pics)
Hey y'all some of you wanted to see pics of the bumper I built for my Jeep. 3/16" stainless steel, broke angles, very few welds. I was planning on having it powder coated at first, but, I'm kinda diggin the stainless. Just thought I would share some pics of it with you guys.

If you can keep it looking like that, screw the powdercoating!
Why take something so unique, and hide it (making it look like every other black bumper out there)? |

Looks good. I like the stainless, but it doen't mix with the black fender flares. I'd powdercoat or paint it.
Now you just have to weld one some shackle mounts and a steering box skid!

Steering box skid and shackle mounts are in the making right now.... Just ordered some d-link shackles off e-bay last night. Oh.... and I'm building a rear bumper, tire carrier and hitch combo out of stainless as well...
Anyways, I just used a 40 grit da finish on it, for adhesion purposes... If I decide to keep it stainless I'm gonna glass bead blast it... it would be a nice uniform finish |

Bullet Sponge.

I like it, add some shackles to it along with a stinger and I'll buy one from you. (As long as it ain't stainless - I prefer my jeep solid black
) |

Good job sir. I like the look, very simple, clean lines and not over elaborate compared to some front bumpers.

amazing job ... not my cup of tea, different strokes for different folks ... but it doesnt diminish the fact that there is some serious workmanship into that bumper, ver nice.

Looks pretty darn good. Extend the corners a bit with a stronger angle to the end, weld through clevis mounts, smaller brush bar on front and it will be real close to the HighRock bumper by Bestop. It really does look like it should be black though. Good Job !! |

Thanks for the compliments folks... Like I had said I am doing the d shackles on the bumper and the hoop... Just want to get the winch before I go welding the hoop on so I can make sure everything will work properly... It will stay stainless until I get it finished with the shackles and everything... Probably will powdercoat it black once everything is finished up... It will make it flow with the rest of the Jeep better... and if it chips... no rust
![]() Thanks again Last edited by VZEHLER; 03-24-2007 at 11:13 PM.. |
