Custom door mounts

So I got tired of just leaning my doors up against the wall with a town under them and decided I'd figure out a safe cool way to store my doors and vinyl windows when they are not on my jeep (which 99.9% of the time they are off) So this is what I came up with.

Went to lowes and bought 4 of these:

Measure where I wanted them.... leveled them out... the whole 9 yards

Then I decided to drill in two small pieces of velcro under each arm for the vinyl windows for the side of the jeep.

So here is the left side all on the wall and the right side what it looks like empty

Minus on door:

Holding almost everything:

To top it off it even hold the rear vinyl window!

It holds everything and the Jeep still has room to sit inside the garage.

Will that's it for my thread, I hope you enjoyed and let me know what you did for your doors or if you like/dislike mine.

I like it. Hanging them like that makes me nervous.

that is sweet dude

Should be no nervouse over hanging them...tied into studs, and at weight, should handle 3x weight.

That is a really nice setup, and about to "spring clean" my garage as well. :o

Although I also hang mine from the window frames, it has been stated here that this method is bad for the welds of the window frames to the door cracking.

Well these mounts were rated to hold 50lbs on each, so with two of them it can hold 100lbs and the door is 56lbs so it's gooooood... Plus it's into concret and the tap cons will hold 75lbs each and there is 4 for each door. You could hang a Buick on those!!!!!

Has they been proven? I thought it was more so a myth???

Have you seen or heard anyone who has had problems with it? I'm curious because if so I may grab another mount to support some on the weight from the bottom. But I just thought more so could have been from abuse to the door prior to them being hung by the window frame.

I'm sure someone will chime in.

I have mine hanging from those large vinyl covered bicycle hooks that are screwed into the ceiling joists of my workshop. They get hung there at the start of spring and aren't disturbed until the end fall when I re-install them. I am careful when hanging and removing, so I don't worry too much. I figure they get more of a shock just being opened and shut during normal use.

I love the mount! ive been looking into the same thing, hope there isnt any problems from that holding spot

Over time the welds at the bottom of the window will start to crack. Hanging them by the window frame can speed that up. Throw a bracket under neath so the weight of the door is spread between both sets.
