Van added this setup to his "may fit" list. The clearance was so tight that I had to grind off some material from the pad clip ears! I also can't run tape balance weights anymore but that's no big deal.

It was Van that told me the ORO U-Turn wouldn't work with the 16" kit. But, I was at his shop at the time, ready to pick up what I think was his last 16" kit on a Friday and didn't explore it further with him.

I wanted an "excuse" to run the Currie anyway, don't tell my wife that though...
Hrmmm, I shouldn't have said that. Maybe I just didn't have the machined parts that day for the kit. We can do any of our kits to accept the ORO.

so is a 2.5" lift enough to allow the curried HD set-up to work properly? i think there was a post early in this thread that said his lift wasnt enough and caused the system to not work properly

before someone asks why with such a small lift i feel it necessary to upgrade the steering...i like to upgrade everything i own

I've run the Currie steering for 3 or 4 years now (and I bought it used) and it served me very well, I've bent the tie rod a few times but it was always my fault. The only con I've ever found to the Currie system is the joint on the axle end of the drag link isn't serviceable so when it goes you have to buy another drag link. I know it should last a long time and mine did but I don't like the idea of a joint you can't rebuild. I recently switched my steering to the Ballistic fab 1 ton chevy steering. It also has it's cons due to the design but it's beefy as hell and I can get replacement joints at any NAPA in town for pretty cheap. It's not perfect but my TJ doesn't see street driving much anymore and I can handle a little bump steer on the trails we run.

I just ordered mine from Rokmen. They said I should have no problem and Currie said that there is a small possibility that I have to cut down the threads to make it fit. Hopefully not, but we will see.
