Cragar SS wheels on a TJ?

I'm looking to upgrade my canyon wheels now that the GSA's are getting a little worn, and I found a sweet deal on some forged Cragar SS wheels (16"x8" w/4.5" B.C.'s). I'm thinking of somehow painting the chrome center and spokes black and leaving a chrome rim. The backspacing is 4.5". Has anyone done this? Will these wheels (which I assume are made for muscle cars) hold up to my occasional trail runs? Lastly, any recommendations on how to paint the chrome (or is it just polished aluminum?) to look semi-professional? BTW, the tires will be 285-70 16's after my soon to be purchased BB. Thanks to any who can help.
