Bigchevyman24,
I liked your home made hummer intake alot.
If I end up having problems sucking in water or mud, I am going to have to copy that

PILL,
That can be true, but that fact still remains, for some reason or another, some are seeing MPG gains from these kinds of mods.
Although, the example I mentioned above was a bit extreme, that persons intake was pulling in very hot air, hotter than the stock setup.
I donno about yours, but my Jeep was loosing a good bit of power on 90+ degree days.
Yesterday leaving work it was about 90, and I didnt notice the lack of power anymore.
I will post once get a couple tanks of gas ran with it, and see how the mpg changes.
Thanks for the link, looks like an interesting site.

~John

Has anyone thought about one of these to get better air flow and throttle response.

This would be an option instead of moving it under the cowl.

I ran my hose from the stock air hose (cut in half) thru the firewall straight to the filter. Not having the firewall sealed 100% shouldn't be an issue. I spent less on parts and it works.

I like the sound, it reminds me of a turbo. Pics later, I'm at school right now

Has any one done a snorkel like this that lives where it snows? I live in southern Wisconsin. I currently have a custom K&N filter adapted to my intake. I got 2.5-3mph better with that and a Thrush Glasspack added, even with the hot air in the engine compartment, so as long as I get the same flow it should be around the same with the snorkel. I like to go mudding especially during the rainy season around here, but with the exposed filter I put inside I have to worry about water and mud all the time. Any ideas about keeping the snow out? That Scoop might make it better in the rain, but snow is going to plug it either way you face it. The only idea that I can think of is to have one that I can switch back and forth for winter and the rest of the year. Anyone have other solutions? I really like the idea of this Snorkel.
