Corbeau seats...

Ok, here's the deal. I just sold my ricer(an Eclipse) and I'm picking up my 98 TJ this weekend. Something that I have left over from my car is the seats. I have two CR-1 seats made by Corbeau. My questions is, would it be a good idea to hang onto these seats and put them in my Jeep, or will they be too unforgiving for 4 wheeling? Any comments and/or opinions are welcome.

Here's a link to the seat I'm talking about- http://corbeau.com/products/cr1/cr1.shtml

The only difference is that mine are black, not blue.

Thanks in advance everybody.

Send em to me. hehe

You would likely need the proper adapter/bracket to make em work. How do those seats fit you? I'm 5'10" 185, 34" waist, but my other drivers are both shorter than me.

So they're fine for a Jeep? I really LOVE these seats, but I didn't know if they would be acceptable for a Jeep. I know I need the hardware, I already have a friend who can ship that to me.

Once you lift your jeep they'll be a pain to get in it seems.

if you are serious about wheelin, they may help hold your *** in place! they might be a little pain to get in and out of, but not much more than a lowered ricer with the same seats (i used to have a lowered ricer with cool seats too). so i think i would hold onto them long enough to at least try them out. are you thinking about using the stock seatbelt setup or something a little sportier?

Can your friend get a discount for a fellow jeeper? hehe

I'd be interested in contact information. I'm seriously considering new seats, pending wife approval of the cost, but really want to try the seats out for me, my son, and my wife to find the setup that works best for all of us (each of us can/will drive the Jeep on the trail).

I'll probably hold onto them for a while then. I really don't mind the "pain-in-the-***-to-get-into" factor. As far as seatbelts go, I'll probably leave the stock setup for daily driving and add some nicer 4 pt harnesses for off-roading once I get the Jeep all outfitted for some rough terrain. The one I'm hopefully picking up this weekend already has 33s and a 3 inch lift. I don't know about the rear end or anything yet though, he only lives 20 mins away so I'd rather go take a look instead of bombarding the seller with questions. Thanks for the help guys.

Nah, I've had a few people in the Eclipse world interested(because of the matching brackets) for about $500, but everybody flakes when they hear the shipping is upwards of $200. I think I'm going to hold onto the seats for a while and give them a try in the Jeep, otherwise, I'll put them up in the for sale section.

buy the needed brackets, try them out, if they don't work for you then sell them and the brackets. i am sure a jeeper will pick them up if you include the brackets hence them being bolt-on ready.
