I put a safety switch (the kind you have to open up before you can flip the switch) then a hidden starter button on my Jeep, the wire you have to cut and splice into is yellow. I even rigged it up to my alarm so it won't even turn over until alarm is disabled.

This came up on a map light tread but I'll post it here too.
Got a rear view mirror out of a 92 or 94 Olds Bravada, has 2 map lights and a compass. Be sure to get the page out of the owners manual if you get one with a compass it shows how to calibrate.

Yeah, JU search sucks so I couldn't find the other one for ya. That's one of the threads you found, and the other one is called something like "cheap little known mods" or something along those lines.

hth

ps- there is always the famous "mirror reversal", no-one thinks about it but it makes a world of difference!

Flip your rearview mirror 180 degrees. It still has full functionality but will sit higher on the windshield and provide a little more visibility.

ANY COOL IDEAS WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Never mind those expensive bullethole stickers !!
Grab a 30-06 or something similar and stand back about 10Ft and let 'er go !
If you hit it in the right place you can get 2 bulletholes with one bullet. Right in front of the back wheel is a good spot. The exit wounds are a bit ragged but you should be able to curl the metal back inside no problem.
I'm sure you'll agree that they look much more realistic than those corny stickers. Once you get some, everybody else will want 'em too.
