Converting to 2003+ style CENTER BEZEL

I want to change my head unit - the stock one just isn't cutting it now that I've been around much nicer units. I prefer the way the adapter plates look on the '03+ style, and a friend has a spare one after upgrading his to a carbon fiber one from Mopar.

Other than the trim plate for the radio, what else do I need to make it work? Can I re-use my cigarette lighter / switch area and the AC controls?

the bezel wouldnt just be it either.
The rounded units bolt up differently than a squared unit

Oh?

What's involved - drilling new holes or more in-depth than that?

does anyone know anything about swapping out the 3-switch/single power outlet in a 99 for a 20003+ version with the 4 switches and 2 power outlets? got all the switches in and wired up last night, then realized it doesn't fit in the stock location. cannot find a writeup to save my life. any help appreciated.

It's a Jeep, it's not supposed to work right all the time.

There's a writeup on it somewhere around here. He replaced the whole dash. If you can find one, it's not that difficult to do.

Probably you will have a problem with ashtray, as it is a part of the bezel. Here is a write up: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f20/s...stall-1234939/
