My jeep a 92 wrangler,2.5 cyl, has a compression of only 55 pounds in all four cyls. It starts sometimes but not always. I put on a new head gasket. How many pounds should I be getting.? Thank You.

You'll probably get better help in the YJ forum.

Great resources I put here so I can find 'em when I need 'em.

should be over 100........ You mess up the HG install most likely... Or your gauge is not working.......

I would confirm the gauge or borrow another just to be sure..

My compression gauge has a way to put a air chuck to it and put air in the cyl.
I make sure I am on the compression stroke and that both valves are closed.. then put air in. If you take the spark plug out of the next cly or take the oil fill cap off you can here air escaping on a bad HG
