Complete exhaust kits?

The exhaust system on the heep is in desperate need of replacement.
I've been looking for a complete exhaust kit from the block back but havn't come up with a single kit that has everything.

Does anyone have any suggestions for where to find one?

Also I hear that the manifold on my 99 is prone to cracking, is there an upgraded manifold that doesnt cost an arm and a leg?

Is the kind of header you want. It has the flex fittings (or whatever they are called) to help prevent cracking. The one pictured is a Mopar header, but cost about 500 bucks. There are some cheaper aftermarket one you can buy that are the same style.

x2...go with the later-style manifold. It works just fine, and flows just fine. Get a reputable local shop to run your exhaust.

The "best" manifold you can get for your 99 4.0L TJ engine is the 2000+ 2 piece OEM one. You will have to have a "Y" pipe made...HTH

Will the 2000+ split manifold bolt right up to my block?

Since I'm looking to replace the entire system, couldn't I just run a 2000 exhaust system complete front to back?

Yes it does.

Most 2000 exhaust systems have mini cats...

If you have a local Napa around, you could always get the pre-made down pipe from them.
Part number : EXH 52317
It's from a 2000 TJ 4.0 WITHOUT Cali emissions.

I replaced my 98' 4.0 exhaust for $350 front to back.Ebay manifold with expansion joints($70) works great.Magnaflow direct fit cat with down pipe($140) and Flowmaster 40 muffler with tail pipe($140).

It looks like the 2000+ manifolds are cast, is that true and if so is that an advantage over tube?

Also, are the manifolds from a 2000+ cherokee the same as the wrangler version?

Yes, cast.
Better because they don't crack like all the tube ones do...

A good place to get the y-pipe with mini cats. I got this one when my mini cats went out. It's made by US company called Davico based in NJ IIRC.

My 2000 Sport didn't come OEM with mini cats.

I just orderd a set of 2000+ manifolds with o2 sensors for $26 shipped.

So now it looks like I can get a complete exhaust kit for a 2000+ and be ok right?

Also, since the 2000+ looks to have o2 sensors in places my 99 does not, could I re-use the extra o2 sensors in my stock location? Would that throw codes or cause the engine to perform strangely?
