Complete exhaust kits?

The exhaust system on the heep is in desperate need of replacement.
I've been looking for a complete exhaust kit from the block back but havn't come up with a single kit that has everything.

Does anyone have any suggestions for where to find one?

Also I hear that the manifold on my 99 is prone to cracking, is there an upgraded manifold that doesnt cost an arm and a leg?

This:

Is the kind of header you want. It has the flex fittings (or whatever they are called) to help prevent cracking. The one pictured is a Mopar header, but cost about 500 bucks. There are some cheaper aftermarket one you can buy that are the same style.

x2...go with the later-style manifold. It works just fine, and flows just fine. Get a reputable local shop to run your exhaust.

The "best" manifold you can get for your 99 4.0L TJ engine is the 2000+ 2 piece OEM one. You will have to have a "Y" pipe made...HTH

Will the 2000+ split manifold bolt right up to my block?

Since I'm looking to replace the entire system, couldn't I just run a 2000 exhaust system complete front to back?

Yes it does.

Most 2000 exhaust systems have mini cats...

If you have a local Napa around, you could always get the pre-made down pipe from them.
Part number : EXH 52317
It's from a 2000 TJ 4.0 WITHOUT Cali emissions.

It looks like the 2000+ manifolds are cast, is that true and if so is that an advantage over tube?

Also, are the manifolds from a 2000+ cherokee the same as the wrangler version?

Yes, cast.
Better because they don't crack like all the tube ones do...

A good place to get the y-pipe with mini cats. I got this one when my mini cats went out. It's made by US company called Davico based in NJ IIRC.

My 2000 Sport didn't come OEM with mini cats.
But thanks for the info...

I just orderd a set of 2000+ manifolds with o2 sensors for $26 shipped.

So now it looks like I can get a complete exhaust kit for a 2000+ and be ok right?

Also, since the 2000+ looks to have o2 sensors in places my 99 does not, could I re-use the extra o2 sensors in my stock location? Would that throw codes or cause the engine to perform strangely?
