code help p0499 u0155

just popped these over the weekend, wondering if anyone knows what they are so I can fix'em.

The jeep starts up fine, but the electrical seems to restart, ie. "beep" radio stops and restarts. Also the gauges go dead then seem to reboot.

P0499-NVLD Canister Vent Valve Solenoid Circuit High

----A shorted high condition detected in NVLD solenoid circuit.

What is that?

u0155-Lost Communication With Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Control Module

Any help is appreciated

Couldn't even find those codes on my 02 FSM? Just going to have to wait on someone to chime in! Do you have an 06 FSM?Sounds like an PCM but don't quote that!

nope, yeah i'm not sure what they heck these codes are! I think I have a few weeks left on my warranty, but I'm sure the stealership is not gonna honor it b/c of the alarm I had installed.

Unless your alarm is the cause of the problem they have to cover the repair under warranty. If the alarm or its wireing is the cause......forget it.

welcome to the forum! I just cleared the codes. It just reset and nothing ever popped back up. unplug your battery for 30 minutes or so. Mine never came back and never knew what the code actually was...?

NVLD stands for natural vacuum leak detection

OPERATION
The Natural Vacuum Leak Detection (NVLD) system is the next generation evaporative leak detection system that will first be used on vehicles equipped with the Next Generation Controller (NGC). This new system replaces the leak detection pump as the method of evaporative system leak detection. This is to detect a leak equivalent to a 0.020" (0.5 mm) hole. This system has the capability to detect holes of this size very dependably.

1 - EVAP CANISTER
2 - NVLD FILTER
3 - NVLD PUMP
4 - VAPOR LINES
5 - FLOW VALVE
6 - TOP OF FUEL TANK)

It didn't seem that deep...

Old thread, but it helped me today. I removed the charcoal filter for my tube fender install, at some point I had to turn the jeep on with the whole system disconnected to move it. Put everything back in minus the filter and had code P0499. Disconnected the battery for 30 minutes and code was gone. Thanks!
