Clutch Pedal Stuck

My clutch pedal won't go any further then half way depresses. I looked to see if any thing was blocking the pedal and nothing. I disconnected the slave cylinder and i can compress it just find by my hand. If i push the clutch and watch the slave cylinder it moves only as far as the half way my clutch pedal allows it. So does that mean it is the master cylinder? I have a 99 jeep wrangler. Also how do you take the 4 way clip thing off, that holds the shaft from the master cylinder to the clutch pedal? I am afraid i'll break it.

You're best to just buy a whole new master and slave cylinder. It's practically impossible to find one or the other. At least if you buy them new. As far as the four way clip goes. I couldn't remove mine either. So I just reused what was already attached to my clutch pedal and inserted it into the new master cylinder. Since when you buy new cylinders that piece is already disconnected. To do that, all you do is turn the master cylinder so it is wedged. Then pull hard on the clutch pedal towards the back of the jeep. And it will pop out. Then just insert it into the new master cylinder. Hope I helped
