Clutch pedal hits floor when engaged

When I engage the clutch the pedal goes all the way to the floor and I can feel the pedal hit the firewall at the bottom. Is it normal for the clutch to go all the way down? The gears seem to shift in and out fine but I didn't think it should go down that far.

When you push the clutch pedal down, you are DISengaging the clutch.

And I guess mine goes all the way to the floor. Every other vehicle I've ever owned did.

I have the ability to spell correctly, it's just that the autocorrect on my iPad will not permit it.

I always confuse those two
This is my first vehicle and first manual so wasn't quite sure how far it should be going
