clunking noise whenever I slow down.

I was driving my TJ earlier today and I turned off the music. I noticed that when I'd slow down to a read light or to make a turn, there was a clunking noise. I don't have lockers at all so I know it can't be that. I can't pinpoint exactly where it's coming from. All I know is that it doesn't happen when i accelerate, even at low speeds, or when I'm on the throttle at all. Only when I let it move on its own or when slowing down to about 8 mph or less. Any ideas of what I should check?

Bushings, motor mounts, ujoints, bolts.

Just get under the Jeep and start grabbing things and seeing if anything is loose. Then get a friend to drive your Jeep down the street and slow down when he approaches you so you can hear it from the outside...might help locate the noise.

Did you replace swaybar links when jeep was lifted? If not check the bushings on the links.

U joint

Probably front axle u-joint or both (the ones out by the brakes) just did one of mine. Had a lot of slop in it and had the same symptoms you are describing.

Good luck!

check the bolt torque on your suspension components to ensure they are at the factory recommended settings.

You hear all kinds of strange and scary things when you do that...

I agree with the axle shaft u-joints (by the brakes), sounds kinda like what mine was doing, but when they get real bad you hear them alot more. Also check your caliper bolts, I've seen those loosen up and make some noises kinda like that when the calipers start movin
