I need a new TPS (throwing P0122 and P0123 left and right) so I'm glad I found this writeup to do it at the same time. Bookmarked!

I used high temp sensor safe RTV, so I tightest them the same as I would diff bolts- finger tight, then a quarter turn an hour later.

I want to say thank you to the OP, this cured my idle issues.
With 150,000 miles on it it looked like the PO never did this, it was nasty!

Another thanks to the OP for this thread.

However, would like to throw out there that 05,06 (not sure about other years) are only slightly different:

IAC and air chamber vary slightly, but are still in the same location as other years.

ok, so my 2000 TJ has been having a tough time starting in the mornings, and once my baby does start, the idling has been horrendous. i am going to swap out the spark plugs as well as clean up the IAC and see what happens. symptoms previous JeepFreaks have posted in this thread are almost identical to mine. awesome write up and pics at the top of this thread. thanks man!! will let you know how it turns out.

I can't find where to buy an actual pre-made IAC housing gasket, so I was gonna use silicone but I wanted to see if the Permatex Right Stuff would be ok to use? It says it's sensor safe but it also says reccomended for oil pans, diff covers, valve covers but nothing about intake parts. Here is the link to the stuff I am talking about. If that's not ok to use what should I use? Just the sensor safe blue RTV, or should I use the sensor safe copper since it has a higher heat tolerance?

You can cut a new gasket out of gasket material available at any good auto parts store. NAPA is where I bought my last sheet which looks/feels like a tough thin cardboard. I would not use RTV but if you end up using it, that it says Sensor Safe means it is safe to use around your 02 sensors which is what that 'Sensor Safe' phrase is mostly about.
